Not all people are alike, neither are all matters. We acknowledge this and offer appropriate sensible retainer terms.
No Win No Fee
If we assess you’ve been wronged and have a right to compensation from an insurer, such as in a motor vehicle claim or common law (eg shopping centre) claim, we’ll back you with a no win no fee retainer. This means we don’t get paid til you do. The way we determine the amount is by hourly rates.
Hourly Rates
Hourly rates are a traditional fee structure; you are billed for a lawyer’s time writing letters, talking, drafting documents and importantly thinking how to go about all that. You are not billed for research being a task to obtain the knowledge required to perform the task.
Each hour is divided into blocks of 6 minutes called 1 unit. There are 10 units in an hour. Units are recorded as work is performed on your matter. Hourly rates provide transparency as all work performed by our staff is recorded in detail. Where a no win no fee retainer doesn’t apply, accounts are raised monthly.
Fixed Fees
If you prefer the certainty of a fixed fee we will set a fixed fee to achieve a specific outcome. This means we do not use hourly rates. The fee is usually payable upon commencement.
